- Lead, manage and enforce environmental, health, and safety on several hydroelectric dam and powerhouse facilities

- Build working relationships with operations staff and contractors.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the overall company environmental, health, and safety protocols.
- Maintain and manage environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures for the workforce.
- Provide new employees environmental, health and safety orientations and assist with developing/updating materials for these presentations.
- Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards and government regulations; completing audits when traveling to various work sites.
- Investigate incidents/accidents to identify causes or to determine how such incidents/accidents might be prevented in the future.
- Investigate health-related complaints and inspect facilities to ensure that they comply with public health legislation and regulations.
- Maintain inventories of hazardous materials or hazardous wastes, using waste tracking systems to ensure that materials are handled properly (Safety Data Sheet maintenance).
- Work independently. Manage time and resource allocation appropriately to provide overall environmental, health, and safety assistance to the field.
- Create environmental, health, and safety reports, documentation, and write-ups for sites, analyzing metrics and making recommendations for improvement over baseline.
- Evaluate training needs and make recommendations to site staff.
- Oversee or conduct environmental, health, and safety training programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- At least three (3) years of environmental, health, and safety experience OR equivalent mix of education and experience.
- A minimum of OSHA 30-hour training, First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED training.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques is required.
- Demonstrated ability to identify known potential exposures and lead implementation of corrective actions.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and train others.
- Demonstrated computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.
- Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States required (travel time 30-50%).
- Able to regularly travel for the company, including air travel when needed.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and remain active for the majority of the workday.
- Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary ladders or stairs, navigate passenger use of personnel hoists, and the ability to walk/climb/navigate uneven surfaces and negotiate active work areas as needed.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Performing this job requires use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Ability to hear bells, alarms, whistles, etc.
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
